Status Updates From El beso de la mujer araña

Just started reading Chapter 4. Leni unwillingly gets involved with anti-Nazi spies who threaten her cousin, who later sacrifices himself to save her from them. But she is later turned against them after a trip to Berlin to star in a movie, where she is brainwashed by Nazi propaganda and disgusted at the sight of Paris on her return. Yikes!

Just read Chapter 3. Molina begins telling Valentin the plot of a Nazi propaganda movie about a French singer who meets a Nazi officer who falls in love with her. After Valentin voices his disapproval of the subject matter, Molina tells him about how three years ago that day, he met a straight waiter named Gabriel and ended up becoming friends after failing to start a relationship.

Finished Chapter 2! Valentin can't sleep because he feels bad for leaving Molina hanging about his girlfriend. He promises to tell Molina more about her when he feels up to it, and tells Molina to get some sleep by thinking about the next movie he'll tell him. Overall, good chapter!

Molina finishes the movie, which ends with Irena turning into a panther and killing her psychiatrist, then allowing herself to be killed by a real panther. Valentin is sad the movie is over because he got attached to the characters, just like he got attached to his girl. His girl came from an upper-class family, but then she got involved with a guy from college before getting involved with a political reporter.

Just started reading Chapter 2. Molina describes Irena's attempts to attack the assistant in panther form, but it bothers Valentin, who thinks about his girlfriend being in danger while he can't help her. Likewise, Molina worries about his mother, who has a weak heart. The two decide to finish the film tomorrow, while Valentin thinks about his girl, and Molina picks another movie to tell Valentin.
