The wind called to me much in the same way the woods did, how the moon and stars did. In a way that people never have. All the worry, doubts, and fears slipped down my arms, scattered from my fingertips as I ran them over the rough bark. I didn’t allow myself to think of the inevitable weight of picking them back up when it came time to return home.
