Wow - just some initial thoughts. Fitzharris writes with such detail and delicacy, so do NOT read or listen to this while eating breakfast like I did!!! Also, the sheer insanity of WWI just hurts my brain and heart. One soldier was maimed by an exploding tank while trying to deliver a message via CARRIER PIGEON. My brain can’t compute that. The mix of old and rapidly new tech is terrifying.
