This is really teaching me he wasn’t the demon he was portrayed as in history. I had no idea him burning down Rome was a rumor. Also had no idea the Christian persecution was small potatoes and just developed into a larger martyr story down the line. Also, I have got to find a book on Boudica. That revolt against Rome was wild!

It’s kind of sad Nero didn’t just get to be a musician or a poet or even a chariot racer. I wonder if things were different, he would have been a better person? Or was his mother’s goals and admirations for him just too high to overcome?
