I keep going back and forth on how I feel about this book because it kept making me feel icky. I typically like a feminist retelling, but this is like the farthest thing from a feminist retelling. At times it feels blatantly misogynist. I really like Claire Heywood's other books, but this so far is largely missing the mark.

Honestly the Andromeda part makes zero sense. She is rightfully filled with hatred for this man who stole everything from her. And the first time she is able to say "I don't want you", she finally gets a small victory to make him understand the harm he caused - and he cries and she's like "huh, y'know, maybe I can work with this" ???? NO! Girl, kick him in the balls! This dude is awful!

Oh brother, this guy is an idiot. I don't care that he's like 18. I understand that his mother HAS to love him. But, Medusa, girl - what are you doing? What about this doe-eyed child is endearing to you? He's literally throwing a tantrum and belittling your way of life.

So depressing and sad
