Somebody on Reddit or TikTok said something about books mentioning other modern MM books in it and I thought they were joking but holy hell this book did it THREE TIMES including what can only be described as an ad for indie authors lol that feels like a crime to me. Especially in a FANTASY book. Like hello? I’m here to escape why are you doing *that*

Ok now I remember why I hadn’t finished this book before….it’s because Joel Leslie is one of the narrators. It must be me and my ears because a lot of authors use him but good grief his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Also, why do so many books do that “this isn’t a book it’s real life” thing. Maybe it was cute 10 years ago but please stop lol Anyways other than that it’s interesting so far
