Ah yes, the classic “You’d never expect this person would be the villain because I left what? One clue?” trope that Laura Childs is so tiresomely attached to. I don’t know why I keep reading her books. Because they’re cozy? They’re so predictable because maybe you’d never know for sure whodunit until the end, but that’s only because of lazy writing.

Theodosia is really getting on my nerves in this book. Has she always had so little regard for the law? And for calling the police? Why are we hiding threats and stealing wallets and basically stalking/harassing people? You can be investigative with no credentials without trying to solve it all yourself and get in deep trouble.
