this might sound stupid but i feel like i can’t feel deckard’s empathy towards animals and now androids as much as i’m supposed to because of how deeply uncaring he is towards his wife

Debating on not finishing this book tbh, it’s not bad but the odd writing of that time is making it feel like a drag sometimes and the conversations between characters feels so sporadic and off beat. Also a certain scene between Rachael and another character is really uncomfortable to reas since the book states multiple times the she looks like a girl, NOT a woman despite being one.
