I reached 10k words in this book!! I'm so excited! :)) So close to being finished!!

' “I am trying to find words to settle thy mind through this dreadful time. But I am failing.”
“Sir Dirk, please sit.” She motioned to the empty space beside her on the couch.
He hesitated for a moment, but then proceeded to sit, his back leaned against the sofa.
“Ye do not need to reassure me,” Melina said, her voice cracking. Be strong.
“Oh, but I must!” '

Phew that was a lot of writing! 2,567 words!

' He was not alone. The other man was mounted on his horse, his eyes checking every crevice. Not all of them.
The first man held a knife in his hand as he turned around, searching for the individual who had made such a noise. Her. He was searching for her. Her hands grasped the bark again and she could not hold back a gasp as his face came into her view. '

' She laughed. “Do not be ridiculous.” She knew him too well to know he probably stood there and watched the others finish the job. He acted powerful, but he was only a small puppy.
“I do not like these accusations. Ye did not even greet me like a normal sister.” He folded his arms.
“Because I am not thy sister at this moment.” She pushed his shoulder and spun around. '

My head jerked around. An arrow had sunk deep into the bark of the tree where Father was sitting next to me. I instantly rose to my feet, not caring that my meal was now spread on the ground below. I lifted my hand - not sure who I was silencing - and listened. '

' A couple chairs were broken, laying near a window, while a potted plant lay on its side next to a wooden desk. Papers lay strewn around the room. My eyes caught a glisten on top of the desk and when I walked over, I noticed the knife. It was pinning down a large white parchment. '

“Move it, I say! Move!”
I glanced down and met the angry eyes of a villager who was pushing a wheelbarrow full of dirty potatoes. He waved his hands in the air and exclaimed a profanity. I tipped my hat in apology and pulled Celestial’s reins to the left, allowing the man to pass without any difficulty.

I was writing some last night and thought up the greatest idea!
I'm surprised my room light didn't turn on - it was such a good idea. LOL! But I can't spoil it, so I'll share a quote in the next update! ;)

After I reread "Mark of the Arrow" I was telling my sisters that I was super proud about how well it turned out. In which one said, "That's why you need to write the next one."
