Status Updates From Undermined

I'm getting whiplash from how Daniel keeps switching between Maldwyn and Kent; they were apparently on a first name basis a few chapters in, now he is Kent again, except when he is Maldwyn? Make up your mind.

Honestly, they jumped into bed fast. This is an 8.5 book series, could the author not have given us some slow burn before the hook up. Plus Daniel injured and supposed to be resting his leg.

I do so loathe when a story/book ends before the 95% mark. Boo, excess padding!

That sudden villain breakdown reminds me so much of Criminal Minds. It works better on television than in writing, but I got a good laugh regardless. (Though I don't think that's the intended reaction.)

Okay, that's just bloody excessive.

It just hit me who Kent reminds me of with all this mood-shifting between vaguely sociable and irrationally rude. Edward Cullen.

Me every time Kent appears:

I feel both lowkey bored (enough that I keep being distracted from reading) and yet interested enough in the murder case that I don't want to give up. So basically, this is the written version of the crime dramas I watch in the background when gaming.

Maybe I'll end up surprised, but right now I sure hope the pretty douchebag isn't a future love interest. Can't stand people that treat others the way he's doing.
