Just saw this was released in 1996. I know that this has been going since at least 1948, but still difficult to understand how in the 30 years since this book was released life in Palestine just got that much worse.

Interesting to see the author's thought process and self awareness. He constantly shows how he is both traumatized and happy to hear people's suffering, bombs going off. How else are going to tell this story?

Had to request a physical copy from the library as the digital reading experience was cumbersome.
Was taken back by how much Sacco’s self-portrayal reminded me of Shigeru Mizuki’s own depiction of himself in his Showa series.
Very good. Worth picking up to simply experience this huge achievement in illustrative journalism, even if you aren’t exactly “interested” in Palestinian experiences.
