Status Updates From Clarke

A slow burn book about life in country Australia and moving on. A lot of character growth, gossip and moving forward from tragedy. The missing woman was the story but wasn’t really the focus of the story, if that makes sense. An enjoyable story and an author I will read again.

I really appreciate an author who writes a 4 year old realistically. I get so annoyed with authors that write small children having such insightful conversations that it’s just eye rolling. Like, seriously, have you not known a toddler or small child before? Otherwise this book is slow. Not a lot happening. But it is still realistic in its conversations etc.

I really enjoy the use of familiar Australian brand names. It makes me feel all nostalgic. Whatever happened to Mr matey bubble bath? The jingle is stuck in my head. lol.
