The chapter started out a bit confusing, but then broke it into parts that were easier for me to follow.

The violence is horrific already.

My ancestor, Black Kettle, was mentioned in chapter 20. So far, the history that I was taught through life has been confirmed but there is also so much more information overall.

"Our history must reckon with the fact that Indigenous people's, African Americans, and millions of other non-white citizens have not enjoyed the self-evident truths of equality, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness proclaimed at the nation's founding as inalienable rights belonging to all."

It’s good.

So far there is a lot of history covered that I learned not in school, but from my time spent as a child in Mew Mexico. Very interesting - more people need to know!
