The writing is good but I am just too put off by some of the elements of this story.

I’m enjoying the writing BUT a few things make me uncomfortable. There’s some foreshadowing of an attraction between Lord Cazaril and the 19 year old Iselle who is less than half his age. The Dowager Provincara thinks Iselle needs “a man’s authority” and is dismissive of “stupid governesses” and “fool women” with “thighs like dough” …I find this attitude from a powerful woman gross. 🤢
