Status Updates From It's Not Unusual to Be Love...

I tried. Wanted to love it, but it was just too stupid. River never shuts up and it’s supposed to be vivacious and cute but is actually just annoying and over the top.

STILL having fun with it, but didn't love the way the author had River slip in some condescending slut shaming with his "I know it's a tad passé to say as a gay man..." bit about not wanting to sleep around. #notimpressed

Ok, look... I'm into this. It's almost *too* zany, and definitely over the top, but I'm having fun. But I still can't help cringing a little as I remind myself that I'm here to enjoy the fictional ridiculousness, not to call out the fact that River is COMPLETELY sexually harassing Kai in the workplace in a way that would be incredibly uncomfortable if Kai wasn't secretly into it because it's all just a story. Yikes!

Lost interest as I usually do. In a bit of a book slump at the moment I think. Also I just don’t like books with comedy all that much I’m learning. lol. Trying to be funny just doesn’t seem like a genre for me.
