I really like Scortius the charioteer. Well, Crispin will not be forgotten anytime soon. Not with that entrance into the court of Sarantium.

Well Crispin just made two strong enemies at the very least. Leontes and his wife Styliane. Yikes. The court of Sarantium is rife with plotting but what can one expect in an Empire of such magnitude?

I like Zoticus. An interesting pagan alchemist. All of the characters so far have been memorable, and that is quite the feat.

GGK’s writing really draws you in. His worlds are just enamoring. And his writing. Gods. I can see why Christopher Tolkien recruited him for the Silmarillion.

Well, Queen Gisel of Antae is one ambitious woman. To marry a married man, who is the Emperor Valerius II, no less.

Well it’s certainly interesting. It seems Crispin will be one of the major characters going forward. I really wish there was a map so I could see how everything’s laid out.

Well that succession was dealt with rather handily. Petrus is seemingly a power behind Valerius. Whether he is content with that or not is yet to be seen.
