Status Updates From The Queen's Gambit

Well.... I have mixed feelings on this book so far. I like Beth being intelligent in chess and being a child prodigy at it too. But... I'm worried about the portrayal of black girls (and black people in general) through Jolene. So far, she is the only black person I've seen so far in the story and she is... not a good person. I worry that if there are other blacks that they may be cast in a bad light...
