Status Updates From Suddenly Us (Unexpected Eve...

This book is schizophrenic. One page has Mason itching to get with Ainsley and happy as a clam, and the next he's saying how he needs to let her down easy and get back to how things were. Then back and forth again. His mom shows up and a switch clicks (on and off a few times to be correct). Terrible writing.

I’m so confused. They start this book out with Mason to teach Ainsley how to date. But then at some point—the reader is never told when & the characters never discuss it—they are in a full fledge real love relationship. When did it go from him teaching her to “screw the teaching we’re in this for real!”? Also, one chapter he gives her a kitten. The very next chapter, he says, “we should get a dog.” ?

What ridiculousness is this!? She gives her phone away so Porter can't contact her, but removes the sim card!?? WTF does she think that's going to accomplish? All she needed to do was get a new number! She's still holding her old number in that sim card she removed. Why give away the phone at all?? Dense.

Two chapters in and the entire first book is overwritten. The gay dads have reconciled (guess we'll never really understand what happened to make them separate in the first place) and Ainsley's life is all sugar cookies and candy canes.

Okay, so technically I'm *listening* to this duet but I have to update:
1. I'd like to set everyone involved on fire.
2. I don't understand the motivation behind anyone or anything that has happened. Like nothing.
3. I've had the patience of a SAINT for the last EIGHT hours with this duet but NO ONE is ever going to convince me that someone beta read this.
