Telling that his “largest problems in the world” are all tech related. Not war, not famine, starvation or distribution of food. Nope. “Make compootor faster”

This feels like watching a political debate on TV where people are just talking past each other. The author is like “how could colleges fail to educate people?”
But it’s never been only about that
And the only reason I think the author fails to acknowledge that is because he’s got something to sell you

This book is stupid at best and intellectually dishonest at worst

Not a good start. The author begins by describing an antidote where he annoys Bill Gates at a dinner and uses Gates off the cuff from remarks as some sort of steel man for a downfall of overall innovation and education. I think gates can be a clown at times, but this is not a good story.

Undoubtedly, some individuals possess exceptional intelligence but are not aided by formal education. Additionally, there are issues that we, as a society, have not taken seriously enough to solve. However, I don't think the book presents a coherent philosophy to explain these phenomena outside a narrow domain. The book is remarkable in its ability to alternate between optimism and a sense of persecution with ease.
