As an Alan Moore fan, and someone who often finds Lovecraftian horror unsettling (yet problematic), I'm curious to try out Neonomicon. It seems to be a polarising one!

I expect outdated, insensitive, and racist language when I read a classic. It was never acceptable but it's something you have to place in the cultural context in which it was written.
NOT SO HERE! JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ADAPTING THEMES FROM LOVECRAFT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ADAPT HIS RACISM!
Literally in the first 3 pages a slur.
Plenty of people have used his mythos without doing that. Racism doesn't equal dark/edgy
