While I have neglected it as something outside of my immediate interest area (I should not have!), African history is truly intriguing (I like that this book, while not being about it, introduces some medieval African history as well!) and it is unsurprising, yet also horrifying, how much capitalism has to do with colonialism and “civilisation”. I will collect a lot of evidence for my history exam through this!
