So many books decrease the reader's enjoyment in the last 10 pages. A predictable or hokey ending, too much information in the epilogue, etc. Most stories are wrecked when they go from fast-paced detail to tying up loose characters & plot details with a quick glossing over including the main characters' stories.

I think I am beginning to understand this book. it's written beautifully with lots of details. but not enough romance and too much pride. it's going for skmehtjng, I think I know. but it isn't depicted romantically enough. almost too real, and too close.

This really is a slow book. But here I am today, reading another 10 pages today. Usually when I stop reading, that's what I do: I stop reading. I rarely come back to a book. But as I said, I cannot gulp down this book. I read 10 pages, have a perfect picture of he landscape in my head, I see the characters as clearly as ever. Then I have to stop. Really quite an interesting experience.

the book indeed progresses slowly. but somehow I do not mind. Ms King weaves a beautifully tale. it isn't as exciting or fast-pacing as other romance novels. could be a little bland for some. I enjoy her writing though so I don't mind. but I can also only read a little bit at any given time. it's not a book that you devour. you take in small sips rather than gulp it down.

Really good writing and great storytelling ability. It's not fast paced but doesn't feel like dragging either. It kind of just takes you on a slow-pacing journey which you actually don't mind. Very interested in continuing reading. Hero is great. Heroine a little annoying. (I hate a heroine that insists on something that does not make sense)
