my main issue rn is that they have these smart characters, but sometimes in order to explain an idea or concept the author wants to get at a character will suddenly become incredibly stupid with no common sense while another character takes on their smart personality and explains. this relationship rotates constantly and its so annoying

they dont know what a black hole is????

i find it really frustrating that these are all distinguished scientists but theyre all acting so incredibly stupid. how would it not be obvious you shouldn’t touch buttons on an unknown ship?
