It’s about a boy named Jomo Rodgers and he’s trying make his football dreams come true but he can’t cause certain problems in his life

Finished the book and it was a pretty good book. You can learn some lessons from it like don't take steroids. So a good book if you like sports.

Since he has been taking the steroids he has had roid rage and all of his friends hate him now. When the football team was at practice he injured one of his players and gave him a concussion. So when the team went to state Jomo the guy on steroids injured another player and got ejected and he tried to drive off a bridge and kill himself. He then woke up in a coma.

Now Jomo has decided to do steroids and he is changing. But at least he is getting bigger and stronger he has put on 20lbs since his summer weightlifting program. But he had an outburst of roid rage when his friend drop one of his CDs and Jomo wanted to fight him. He also has started more attention from scouts for college so that is a plus. So that is all that has happened so far. Also a good book

So far in the story, a kid named Jomo wants to be a better football player but everybody says he is too small. But when the newspaper came out he was in the players to watch section. But is parents might get a divorce.

Jomo has finally awaken from his coma. He'd been out for 32 days and when he wok up he could barely keep himself awake. After a while of staying in the hospital, he'd finally returned home. After he woke up suddenly, remembering everything that had happened, he told his parents everything. Ganz, the steroids, his violence, and even what he did to Miranda. He's got a lot to do to fix these things, and realizes that.

Jomo was playing pretty bad, missing tackles, and making bad reads. This was until he tackled another player around the neck and hurt him pretty bad. He taunted him and the other team and was ejected. He was kicked out by his coach and sped off in his car. He ran a red light nearly hitting someone and a cop began to follow him. he called his home and hysterically cried as he began to run into a bridge abutment.

After Jomo got found out by his uncle, Will tried to call Jomo's father. He tried to find his hotel information and complained about him not having a cell phone. Jomo convinced his uncle that he would tell his father, and he hesitated at first. Jomo drove off contemplating calling his dad and coach but decided he would play in the last game. He couldn't let his team down now. He would go out big, in a blaze of glory.

Jomo finally had a day off to himself. His uncle Will found this out and asked him to a friendly game of hoops, but nothing too serious since Jomo had a game. They played for a little bit and Will called it quits, so Jomo took this opportunity to take his shot. He went into the bathroom while his uncle was changing. his uncle walked in and Jomo dropped the pen and it rolled under the stall door to his uncle outside.

Jomo's whole life is spiraling out of control. He lost his girlfriend, his father's condition isn't getting any better, and he's become a muscle-head that can't control himself. He rocked a sophomore that showed off little bit and put him in the hospital with a concussion. After this his teammates hated him and didn't even want him on the team, he felt bad, but no one would listen to him.

Cranmer High School has just started summer workouts and everything was looking good, Jomo even passed the drug test. He felt confident about his performance and no one knowing about him juicing, this was until he heard the coaches talking about him, and one of them said Jeri had concerns about Jomo. Jomo got so nervous he thought he was gonna throw up and feels like he's being watched, hope they don't say anything.

Jomo started to complain to Ganz about the "side effects" of his drug and Ganz raised the price, putting Jomo in his place. On top of that Miranda called Jomo wondering why he didn't talk to her the night before, teasing about him being with another girl. Ganz made Jomo work for him if he wanted more supply since he was complaing and he got Trey and Calvin in the loop, but now Cranmer High has started drug testing.

After touring the town with April, Jomo almost ended up cheating on Miranda. They got really into it, pulling each other's clothes off and almost going all the way. That was until they Jomo realized what he was doing. They stopped and headed home until they were pulled over. The cops didn't show very much liking to Jomo, probably because he was black, and Jomo was mad about this, but they were sent on their way.

Jomo and Jayson talk about the coach from Mississippi Tech and how presumptuous he was when talking to Jomo about him and his family. After a while Jomo noticed a couple looking at them, and took this opportunity because he's never had it happen before. The thing is though, he's still with Miranda and Jayson reminds him of this, but despite that he starts to like the girls a lot, and hangs with the girls anyway

The competition was getting serious. Jomo knew where the running-back was on the next play and leveled him when he caught the ball. Jomo got cocky and flexed on him and ended up in a fight. The coach threw him out of practice for the rest of the day. While in the locker room Jomo meets the coach for the Mississippi Tech Cavaliers and was offered to play there, but he mentioned Jayson too, like all of the coaches do.

Jomo finally had the chance stand against Harper after all this time of being persecuted and treated like he was under him. Jomo never got to throw a punch but he shoved him to the ground and almost had the intent of killing him. Jayson came in and stopped them but Jomo was still furious and almost turned on him. The juicing is getting to Jomo's head, and it's only a matter of time before something bad happens.

Jomo gave a speech in Mr. Gardener's class. He spoke of events in US history that caused mass destruction and loss of life, and discussed the fact that sometimes things, bad things, must be done for to prevent these things from happening; for the greater good. But Jayson asked him if he stood behind his argument and said that you can't make one claim and then stand against it. The bell rang before Jomo could respond.

Jomo's dad and Will, Jomo's uncle, got into it. Jomo's father's rage was being fueled by the alcohol and he wasn't thinking straight. They argued back and force about Will's college injury, and when Jomo had had enough he made a low blow mentioning his mother to his father. When this was all over Jomo and Miranda got some alone time and she asked him why he likes to play football, He doesn't know why, but he likes it

Jomo finally sealed the deal. He had gotten the steroids and he bolted out of the restaurant and didn't risk getting caught. He was so nervous the next day when he'd finally taken them that he thought he'd heard his father coming up the steps when he really wasn't. Then later that day he has dinner with his family and his girlfriend and they begin to find out why Jomo's father was kicked off his football team.

Jomo walks through the shady part of town, tattoo parlors, restaurants with sketchy food, everything you can thing of that would make a place seem trashy. Even the guy he met with was shady with a swastika tattoo on his arm and he was bald with a country accent. Jomo realizes just how sketchy this situatio is and becomes even more nervous than before.

Jomo finally got a deal set up with some guy to get PHD's. After the cal Jomo starts to get nervous, even reconsider his decision, and in the middle of his daydreaming Miranda calls. She notices something is wrong with him after talking about the Sunday dinner they're gonna have together. She tried to whisper sweet nothings to him through the phone but that didn't work on him, as he was too worried about his decision

After the incident with Trey in the showers Jomo has become more persistent on getting bigger, faster. He calls Fitzie to ask if he knew about anyone that can get some for, you know hypothetically speaking, but Fitzie caught onto him quick. Fitzie helps him out and now Jomo's life will start to go downhill.
