i liked the style and main character of "sugary deaths," they had attitude. the rest were just fine.

bloodstained hands like yours: strong beginning but anticlimactic
the boy from hell: good concept but the prose ......
la patasola: actually painful to me, in a good way

dismembered & blood kin didn't grab me, but la boca del lobo did - i feel like it could have been fleshed out into something more than a short story

beware the empty subway car: not sure 2nd person pov was doing much for this but i liked it quite a bit

el viejo de la bolsa: ohh i liked this one a lot. great prose

the nightingale and the lark: fun twist on romeo & juliet
¿dónde está el duende?: slow burn but spooky at the end

3rd story: el viejo de la bolsa by alexandra villasante = this one was kind of a miss for me, I wonder if I would have liked it more if I was more familiar with uruguayan history 🤔

2nd story: ¿dónde está el duende? by jenny torres sanchez - creepy and relatable to anyone who has that one family member that makes a big show of supporting family but never really has your back 🙃; perfect short story for summer

The first story: the nightingale and the lark by Chantel Acevedo was a lovely romeo and juliet retelling. I'm excited to continue reading the other stories 😌
