Status Updates From Northanger Abbey

[ENGL 3300] I’ve reached Ch.25. I am fascinated by this novel. I find it very interesting but I am finding some of the gothic themes very cliche. I am, however, amused by how self aware Austen is about the gothic themes. She uses Mr. Tilney to convey these cliche themes. I find it unfortunate that she is caught by Tilney at the end. Ugh!

Bets & foresight. Once I accurately predicted the order of announcements on a dance show, I was v. young. Bit freaked out. Cath talks about how he’s a bit of a braggart, it brings to mind numerology astro tool sadly applied since last year in arts, culture, + media + how some, astro dictates, tell stories + hide the truth. Not to judge though, i don’t have it, may Allah (SWT) guide us all + not use it either.

Catherine is so hilarious and light and not really a deep thinker. LOVE her. She saw Mr Tilney, okay yeah that’s mine, and stuck to it, so lightly as well.
