See, most of this book is hot air that I skim past. But then there's a cool lore drop and I'm suddenly drawn back in. Really, that's the problem... Not enough supernatural stuff, and way too slow pacing. Also I literally don't care about any of the characters but eh.

I was just about to compliment the descriptions on the spice scene and then the dialogue ruined it, and Dex' pov ruined it even more. If I didn't know what was really up, I'd be so pissed at the gaping inequality in both declarations and feelings.

Very meh so far. Extremely stereotypical, and I don't feel connected to any of the characters. I'm wondering if Michael will be different after having regained his memories because the way he was before he didn't feel any different from Dex whatsoever, and Dex is flat enough.
We'll see. Still have 30ish% of the book left.
