I’m going to be a bully and say if this book was in the POV of Sadie it be so much better

not another Pokémon page(s) and even worse the other love interest likes it. Yall this book is 85% of the authors opinion 15% plot. Sad part is the plot is so good.

the most unrealistic part is her skipping an intimate concert of her favorite artist to third wheel - also the modern references are driving me crazy. This book needs a serious edit it’s driving me nuts. Having half a page dedicated to Pokémon - girl I just skipped it. And trust me, I’ve read brown girl books that were modernized

ending on 100 tonight but just know that it’s me and my Bollywood playlist for life. AND that despite having over 40 desi books read this is the first time I ever read “Jaan” aka my parents nickname for one another in a book. What a shock that was.

girl I am enjoying myself - giggling at certain moments - but also so cringing cause why are we talking about deux moi in a book. yes it’s written to be current but shit like that AGES the book. I literally guess what year the book came out (2024 if you are wondering) because I clocked that shit. Zara tho is my favorite character so far- Adnan (naan) is low - Sadie is so me in middle school so I have to love her
