Reunion
(4/5). I felt so moved by this story, within such a short amount of pages. I was particularly drawn to both the student and the old man in the story and loved how they both had specific roles in the story. I loved how there was no waffle about other characters or unnecessary place setting; the story was just the story. Even the ending was just.. the ending.

Ruler of the Winds and Sands
(1/5). Meh. I didn’t really understand the ending, I’m sure it was cute and probably meaningful but it went over my head a little just because I wasn’t interested in the story. I started bored, grew a little interested and then finished bored.

Home Sweet Home.
(4.5:5). Loooved this one, it started off so innocently and then progressively uncovered more suspicious details. The twist at the end about the ‘shadow-child’ was so unpredictable I gasped. Loved the prose of this too, everything happened at the perfect pace and the reader never knows too much or too little. I selfishly wish I knew more about the affair though but it wasn’t a necessary part.

Scars
(3/5). I think I need more time to process that one. At first, I didn’t like it because of the fighting and violence which is just not for me but the deeper it got, the more I just wanted the youth to be okay, the more I enjoyed the story and felt for him. I didn’t understand the ending or really a lot of it fundamentally but I loved the prose and the relationship building was so slow and beautifully done

Goodbye, my love
(2.5/5). I’m not personally much a fan of AI inspired fiction because it all seems very generic- one side is evil and wants to be in control of the whole world type shit blah blah. This one surprised me a little though, I found myself actually becoming invested in the relationships between the human and their models and wanting more on the intimate bond they’d created before the story was set.

Snare
(4/5). What I thought would be a cute little ‘moral-of-the-story’ type story turned into something so sick I was not expecting. So well written that the disturbing details didn’t seem forced or out of place but just a necessary part of the tale. I really enjoyed this one, it made me feel sick a little bit but I think that made it better

The Frozen Finger
(2.5/5) Not sure how I felt about this one. Nothing about it I didn’t like but I also didn’t love it. I think I was too confused the whole way through and for it to be so short I didn’t have time to catch on? Also could’ve been much scarier although I feel like a bit of that might’ve been lost in the translation.

Cursed Bunny
4/5 stars. Loved this story, the length and prose was just right, I loved how it let the reader use their imagination a little too. Loved the creepiness, it was the right amount so I wasn’t super spooked but just a little wary.
