Frustratingly accurate depiction of bureaucratic sexism and class struggle in a society that happens to have elemental magic. The believable male pattern abuse at home and socially that leads to uprisings makes me believe the female characters varied responses. I believe the characters personalities which is refreshing in fantasy. This book took a while to pick up but I’m already thinking about the sequel.

Magic and misogyny, it’s all believable really

1 arrogant, naive MC & 1 coward trying not to be… but written so you can still cheer for both.
