Status Updates From Sátántangó

I haven’t yet been able to find the words to describe his writing style. Expressions such as ‘gut-wrenching’, or ‘a punch in the stomach’, seem to fall into vulgar ways of laziness. László is unlike any author I’ve read — not that I am particularly well-read —, and is making me slow down and reread several parts — which is the kind of routine I want to cultivate.
