Status Updates From Wind Breaker 7

god this volume is full of wise words about accepting help from others huh. i especially love the panels of sakura’s empty cabinets and closet as kotoha is acknowledging that it’s scary to rely on others. it’s scary to fill up a house and make it a home and be comforted by a space that you’ve accepted is just for sleeping bc it’s all you have energy for at the end of the day

the side characters mostly blend together but i am loving the super subtle background yaoi in takanashi and kurita’s profiles…..takanashi likes refreshing colognes and kurita’s fun fact (that is noted as a secret btw) is that he recently started wearing cologne???? but it’s a pipe dream bc takanashi is head over heels for his gf oh the drama hang in there kurita

i'm crying right alongside nagato rn
between this and witch hat i'm really spoiled with comfort manga that use food as the centerpiece for community and safety and support. such a beautiful message

i really really REALLY hope that young boys are reading this manga and connecting with this incredibly healthy depiction of non-toxic masculinity. let boys cry!!! let them cry in each other's arms!!!!! some of this manga is deeply homoerotic but there's a shit ton of emotionally vulnerable platonic relationships between the guys too and it's just so nice to see

......i'm in this manga and i don't like it
seriously though i do love the commitment to earnestness at every turn. these characters are constantly reminding each other that they're worthy and that we should cherish the help our loved ones provide even when we don't think we deserve it. the roughness around the words make it all seem way less pandering too, like it's truly earned and messy and fought for (literally)

the level of drama these delinquents are capable of is truly hilarious. like go join the school play or something to blow off steam instead of hitting people with bats
