This whole chapter on getting rid of assisted devices comes off as ableist. Get rid of walkers because staff may feel more connected to residents? They don’t need walkers because staff can help them walk? So we’re going to limit a person’s ability to move independently and add work to staff because we think (with no conclusive evidence) that staff will like a resident more. What?????
