Refracting into different ages in the afterlife is very sweet.

Death switch seems highly likely 15 years since this was written, although now instead of prewritten missives bouncing around it will be AI agents chatting over email.

In all of the tales we are either going to an oblivion with our kin, in some service to them, or to the higher power who has used us as a tool.
I guess it makes sense that an afterlife would be based around connection to others.

And that is the curse of this room: since we live in the hearts of those who remember us, we lose control of our lives and become who they want us to be.
