Status Updates From Merlin's Apprentice: The Mage

- I did pass the halfway mark! And it was relatively good. It’s just like I’m here for Arthur so where is he? The build up is at a fair pace but it’s also killing me. Might pick this back up later on…

- Pip, I like you. I really do. But I can’t keep excusing your terrible decision making.
- The only consistency is inconsistency. he has a thought one moment and the next he’s changed his mind. Yay for fluid characters but when the mind-changing is going from logical to illogical it’s irritating.
- Thought to be fair to him, it’s hard to sit there and do nothing when your sister is being tortured elsewhere.

- “What Mordred calls vassals are truly slaves.” I knew it! I was right in my understanding of vassalhood.
- Poor Pip. First his brother and father. Then his mother (forever) and then his sister. Now he’s all alone in his grief and misery.
- Pip is so reactive but it certainly keeps the story flowing. He’s so not cautious but to be fair to him Merlin hasn’t actually told him the plan yet.

- I was really interested to see what version of Merlin we would get. I think it’s a shame it wasn’t the young soldier because that would’ve been a cool twist. Instead we’ve got regular old Merlin. But maybe still some twists to come…
- I’m a bit confused by the terminology of Mordred’s edict because vassals and slaves are not the same thing. Vassals are bound by honour and slaves are sold.
