Status Updates From La Figlia della Foresta

this book is fine but it is so, so, so slowly-paced. 200+ pages in and I feel like the plot has just barely started. Also weirded out that the characters, who are living the legend of the children of lir, are aware of "the legend of the children of lir" and reference it/them by name. like if the characters in ACOTAR went "wow, this is really a disney's beauty and the beast situation, is it not?" or something.
