Cyclops is another attempt at the metafiction shit this collection has going on. Whatever. Its so overdone in this book and each time it returns to that well it doesnt touch on anything new.

Whatever strengths Fantasy might have had is dulled by being right next to the atrocity that is Artist’s Rendition. The only thing that stands out right now is the author’s fixation on gay men with internalized homophobia

Artist’s Rendition is fucking disgusting and certainly dragged this whole book down by 2 stars.

Family Life. Bahay-bahayan exept youre a 40 year old man, in your 2nd cousin’s house, and youre the only one in on the ruse. I think it has a nice emotional texture but puro heterosexual couples na lang yung stories

The Most Chilean Man in the World plays in the face of fiction’s conveniences and clean endings to tell a story about a man trying to solve his loneliness. Mmmmm I find it ok. A bit quaint.

Thank You is a really interesting story that captures a specific psychological mixture. Its the weird grey area that people who live in tough times have where something bad happens to you but you know it could be worse so you come out of it appreciative.

'I Smoked Very Well' is the ramblings of someone trying to kick their bad cigarette habit. Its simplistic to the point of artlessness tbh. Maybe it would be novel if we werent in a social media world where every little bad thought gets put out there and banal our inner turmoils were private because it was socially unacceptable to talk about
