eating this up. hawke is an icon and aro is SO fun

FAWWWWWK i'm eatin it up penelope. being back in this universe warms my little heart. things have always felt simpler in shelburne falls and on fall away lane

"Noah Van der Berg idles out at the curb, straddling his motorcycle, a custom, top-of-the-line piece of machinery built by his dad and brother as a gift to him when he signed to be on Jared's racing team.
The guy is super nice, like being dashing is his fucking job."

my boy noah from the peak!!!!! omg noah i hope you're so happy and living good omg my baby

forgot 108 pages has only covered little over 8 hours of time in the story. i've been so hooked.

ugh hell yea angst i'm eatin this shit up this is so sick

"When I think about myself happy someday, it's not me traveling or buying a nice car or working somewhere important.

It's having a thousand moments just like that, where I'm exactly where I want to be."

yea that's so me twin

saying hawken doesn't know what real problems are oh girl if u only knew 😭😭

"...Mars.

. . .

It reminds me that I don't matter. Not really. It's been spinning for billions of years, and we've been spinning for billions of years - millions of me's have come and gone. Nothing I do makes any difference.
Seems depressing, but it's really not.

It lightens the load to know all I have to worry about is what I'm eating next and where today takes me."

her obsession with escaping to the sky is cool

"Poverty is no excuse to do the things she or any of her pals do. She can make her own opportunity. My dad did."

ugh hawken looking up to jax like this i love jax i love this

HAWKEN IS LITERALLY A MINI JAX WITH HIS OWN HIDEOUT AND CAMERAS AND TECH KNOWLEDGE HOLY SHIT HAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

ooooo okay we aren't starting in high school how fun

Kade Caruthers = rising high school senior
Hawken Trent = rising college freshman, son of jax & juliet
Aro ? = i'm thinking high school dropout .., foster child from weston, aka the poor town
Tommy Dietrich = ousted to weston ?
Dylan Trent = age unsure, younger cousin to Hawken, daughter of tate and jared
Schuyler = Hawken's ex.. i feel like that'll be important

"It's kind of fun knowing that Jared Trent's daughter owes me money."

MUAHAHAHHA LORE LORE LORE

"Jared Trent - a former racer who's on TV a lot and his sister-in-law, Juliet, whose novels were on my high school reading list."

ugh i love this. her books really made it :)

"Or when they demolish their boyfriend's car with a crowbar. I'm not entirely sure that story is true, but it's fun to think about."

TATE MY ICON I LOVE SEEING THIS REFERENCE

"I breathe in and out, imagining the sky looking back at me and wanting to be something worth seeing.
. . .
It always helps - looking up. There's only possibility. The view is never worse."

okay i like aro i'm invested

OHHHH aro is in a rival town. cute

all i've learned so far is that i think aro helps run drugs or something out of this warehouse where a bunch of former foster siblings also do it

this warehouse feels out of place in shelburne falls where r we right now

i'm kinda intrigued though. how does aro have any connection to the second gen fall away kids ??
color me intrigued
