A bit slow at first, as the scenery and politics is established in the first story. But my my my... How the first story unfolds provides a challenge of what loyalty to the emperor is vs loyalty to the people. Looking forward to the second story.

Going to have to come back to this one. The buildup to this first "short" story is an absolute slog, and i'm willing to bet the payoff isn't worth it.
