This is my first experience with Walter Lipman. I was in awe of his authority, amazed by his ability to trace currents of thought and action from history through his day. Then I realized he wrote this book barely out of college. There was something right about the prep school and Iby League education that prepared these guys as masters of the universe at the dawn of the American century.
