Now I’m really interested in reading more by him. This story collection reminded me a lot of Ice Cream Man (which is a comic series that I absolutely love). I really liked this one a lot.

I liked this one a lot more than “The Forest”. The framing device of the girl at the carnival (which is always a creepy setting) where she stumbles upon the titular “Cinema Panopticum” and watches these short stories in facination is such a great idea. And the five (or should I say four) stories are great. “The Hotel” was my favorite out of all of them, it was great!

I'm entering the last novelette. Lots of detail and facial expressions to absorb in these last few pages. Tiring but good!

I tested my long-term recall of what I had read up until last time. I had good recall of intro and first novelette. Took longer to recall second novelette, and I remembered the events out of order. Had zero recall of third novelette -- what I'd read last week. So re-started on pg 1 of 3rd one. Kind of weird had more trouble recalling the more recent reading. You'd think it would be the other way around.

Reading this slower than I'd planned, and it still gives me a headache reading 7-8 pages over 6-8 minutes, but I'm enjoying the experience of reading a book again and recall isn't too bad. With brain injury that's always the sticking point, so that's an accomplishment!

I like the structure of the book. Blogged on a new revelation about reading it: http://jeejeebhoy.ca/2016/03/26/readi...

Its been a long time since I've read a book. Brain injury makes it tough, and I gave up again. I've been doing reading rehab. Again. Making progress. Slow progress, quick progress if you talk to health care people. I was just asked to try a wordless graphic novel. Wrote on my first foray into it: http://jeejeebhoy.ca/2016/03/19/readi...
