I'm really tired of authors bringing up infertility issues in books and then having the heroine magically get pregnant.

This isn't that big of a deal here, but it's still kinda lame.

Love how this connects to Red Herring and also the theme of finding opportunity in losing or failures

lololol I like this self-awareness from the author

A tiny detail bugging me is the author not showing Karina thinking about Kava after realizing what happened. I'm not completely faulting the author though, there are so many characters and moving pieces. This thing with Jackal is heartbreaking, I don't want to believe it. I almost fully don't -- he seemed a lil improved in Romania

The mercenaries stared at her in varying degrees of shock and horror.

But when she looked at Uilleam, he looked mesmerized.

“But from death blooms life and I plan to grow my garden again.” Karina stood, moving close—so close she could smell the sweat on him. “Of course, I’ll need to turn your body to compost first, but fortunately, I already have someone for that.

I'm liking this, but something about the author's writing style is keeping me from being able to read this quickly. Her sentence structure...she's not using many complex sentences? I'm unable to get into a good reading flow. It's going to take me days to finish this

I'm now 100% on Uilleam's side. He would allow Karina to help him if she manned up and demonstrated she had the guts to do what is needed

This is a characterization issue with Karina. The author literally described "her wrath as being biblical" in Dark Horse and right now it's Uilleam who has the biblical wrath, not Karina. I was hoping the author would channel some Kill Bill energy and I'm not getting it
