Status Updates From The Princess and the Hound ...

little bit of a slog there at the end.I still dont feel the love between the characters but maybe book two expands more on their relationship. I wish I knew more about what happens to the characters in the future, the book literally ends before their wedding so yeah, I need more information lol
I will say George as a character was great! His growth was so well written. I see so many similarities between him and Fitz!

it was on the edge of some pretty weird stuff okay and i dont want to read that in my YOUNG young adult book alright?!
It was pretty vague so that made it more confusing but im going to lean towards the side of innocence 😂

I am just so confused. Beatrice is not being forthcoming at all, and I feel like she hates George and has more chemistry with a HOUND
and that part with the hound pack was so sad! I need answers please!

Actually, I think the hound is an older lady who mentors Beatrice

I just love the way this is written. George's emotions are expressed so well and the phrases are simple but pack a punch that help us understand the feelings of all the characters. Princess Beatrice is so interesting. I wonder what is going to happen with her. George is also a little stupid bc why are you showing off your animal magic boy?? Keep that to yourself

There was a quote something along the lines of," a boy can never cry in front of his king. Especially when the king is his father" and man it really conveys the relationship between the two and how strained they are. And without his mother they really drift apart. I am so suspicious about his mother's death! Could they pull a Zuko (avatar the last airbender) and just have his mother be banished??

Oh this is giving The Goose Girl vibes and I love it! Great narrative in the boy's voice. And this is pretty advance for a kid's book! Some of the descriptions were very graphic. It's so well written I am really liking it. In just a few chapters we feel so much for the prince! I love stories where it shows us the beginning of the characters life and then moves into the plot.
