Status Updates From Angels of the Deep

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting -- I have an older edition of this novel, published by MLR Press, so I think less than judging a book by its cover, I was judging it by its publisher -- but it's first and foremost a horror novel. With angels. I'm kind of adoring it so far.

Interesting book. Not what I expected.

So far so good, I'm liking the ending a lot.

I wish I'd checked out the ending - it's usually the first thing I do. Worried my MC isn't gonna make it:(

"Change, the uninvited guest that destroys what once was". So accurate to describe the current situation of our Continent.

The prose is bloody gorgeous here, but boy does the story feels complex and dark. I kinda like that.

Different.

It's not a boss-employee thing. It's a boyfriend-boyfriend thing. Since when? Are they boyfriends? Think I missed something somewhere.

How much torment can one person endure? This is relentless and now bogging the story down. Reading is like slogging through mud. Yes Beck is suffering, but so is the plot!
