There’s no reason why “St. George” should have been the patron saint of England when he wasn’t even English. I basically never understood that yet, so far. And, slaying a dragon was seen as an act ensuring faith and nobility... So everyone was out on the hunt to kill a dragon, mostly for fame and veneration. No wonder they “went extinct”.

Dragons were always considered symbols for perversion and rage in the literature and lore such as the biblical texts. It could be connected to the R-complex part of the brain concerned mostly with pure survival, although some dragons were also of a more peaceful origin. Didn't know that was based off information even though the existence of them is clearly a fraud.

There's some indication dragon could be a reflection of the human mind when our ancestors had a closer connection to the R-complex in the brain, and were more akin to lizards. That's why they're like large dinosaurs, although some types have origins slightly different from the traditional myths of the popular cultures in history, like Hercules or Thor having to kill a dragon, or large reptile.

According to Lei Hiao, sometimes during 500 B.C., dragons with five colors are the best, with white & yellow dragons being the middle kind. Black ones were the most inferior. As a rule, those with veins running lengthwise aren't pure, and those which have been gathered by women are useless.

Knowing your (Chinese) dragons could ensure health and happiness. Ones with scales are kiao-lung, wings, ying-lung, horned, k'iu-lung (blue), if hornless, ch'i-lung (red, white, & green). Do not ascend to heaven: p'an-lung. There are also the five main colored dragons, as well as black and yellow ones.

Dragons could be the devil incarnate, as one drove man from the Garden. There are two versions of the Old Testament, which came out around 100 A.D., tale of creation: the first one presented everything as an arid wasteland before having water exist, and the 2nd one is in Genesis. There are some dragons in the Apocryphal texts.
