DNF. This is two days in a row at work where I listened to like five minutes of this book before turning it off and just playing like youtube videos so I will accept that I'm not interested in continuing this. It's just such a 3/5 history book and I don't want to do another 22 hours of this 😭 alas.

I think also part of why I can't get into this book is that in the introduction she specifically said that her aim is to convince the reader of the unnecessary cruelty and deaths etc of the except never in my life ever have I even had someone attempted to teach me that the British empire was ever good. So anyways it's just like distracting because i feel like she's doing constant "aha!" moments for everything.

I mean it's alright
