I am anxious to see the names on the affidavit from the Grimsley interview. One name has to be Barry Bonds, and another might be Brian McNamee, who is Roger Clemens' personal trainer, which would get him busted as well.

The CBA in 2003 started the drug bust in the MLB, and I assume this is the year that the league began to ban players for using PEDs.

I was not surprised to learn that Kelly and Chelsi divorced, considering her parents and her grand parents did the same thing when she was very young. This part wasn't very interesting or important to the book overall, so I read a little more than I usually do.

Clemens was on steroids for the tail end of his career, and he became complacent with breaking the law, pretty much thinking he was in the right for doing it.

I'm not shocked that human growth hormone (HGH) is popular outside of baseball, like in Hollywood. I am surprised that Clemens' wife started taking HGH. The long term effects on a person's body, and the consequences of doing HGH can ruin someone's life. I wonder what the punishment for Debbie Clemens will be, since HGH is illegal.

Chuck Knoblauch was lucky that McNcamee took the fall for the incident and removed Knoblauch's name from it as much as possible. Even though the courts ruled in Mcnamee innocent, he still was fired by the Yankees.

The rest of the 2001 season after 9/11 went by fast in the book. I think the author was trying to give the feeling the people back then were feeling; like a blur with everything else going on.

I know Clemens hates Piazza because of what happened in 2000, when Piazza shattered his bat and part of it went to Clemens, who threw it back to Piazza.

One of the clients of a trainer that gives steroids thinks he will won't last, saying, "I knew when more and more guys were going through him-that there is probably going to come the day when he was going to get caught," He doesn't think the rapid growth of the business will make it sustainable.

Roger Clemens is now on the Yankees for the 1999 season. I know the Yankees won the 1999 and 2000 championships, so Clemens got his rings that he wanted. I'm not sure about any drama he had on the Yankees (other than when he threw the broken bat at Mike Piazza in the 2000 world series) so we'll see what he does in pin stripes

It appears that Clemens stopped taking steroids after a bad injection. I thought he took steroids his whole career. He might go back to it, but I'll have to keep reading to find out. He is in his thirties at this point.

The book is starting out. It's mostly just showing how the two main characters up to this point meet and how their relationship develops. I think this is very interesting because I don't know much about Roger Clemens and how he got busted for steroids. I don't know how much has gone into this scandal, considering that dozens of players were busted at once, and I hope to see some of this in the book.
