This is a slog. I agree with the basic premise that monastic style meditation is perhaps not suited for householders, and as a second wave feminist, I'm even not averse to the idea that the female experience might require a different style of meditation, but she keeps losing me. Maybe it's 2021 and I'm just not okay with the idea of rigid sexual dichotomies, maybe it's how she leans into woman = emotional mess.

Reading for Meditation teacher training course taught by the author and her husband. Takeaway from pgs. 50-61: to continue to invalidate the variety of experiences us women have during meditation—in comparison to the historical, detached, traditional experiences men have had is to go against our self. There is no “one-experience-fits-all” meditative experience.
