But Burton-Cox is still a suspect in my eyes and Poirot just explained a motive to Mrs Oliver.

Here is my thought process after I read chapter 16. The husband was on a walk with the twin sister and the dog and the wife shot her/him. But there were the husband’s finger marks. So I suspect the wife placed the gun in the husband’s hands post death to make it look like a “suicide” attempt. I could be wrong, too. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I believe the suspect would be Burton-Cox because she fled before Poirot could ask her questions. I need more information since this is a case that happened 14 years ago or so.

I picture George, Poirot’s butler, similar to Batman’s butler: Alfred.

Poirot will be going to the governesses homes and question them what had happened with the “suicide” “murder”. This is book 2 now.

You follow along Mrs. Oliver a lot more than Poirot in Book One. She is trying to figure out who would be a potential suspect from leading from the “elephants” 🐘

In the latest chapter I read, Poirot and his companions thought back to earlier cases. So do read the books before this one, for sure. I know I didn’t. 😱🥲
