One phrase said a lot in this book is "trash" it is given a negative connotation, rather than using the word "waste" most of the time because this book is about saving the planet. Another word used in a more positive connotation was delectable which could have been delicious instead. The last word I found was fixation, which has a sort of negative connotation because it is almost like saying addiction.

Because this is a very personal experience, the author's style is honest, authentic, and relatable. He shares all the emotions that come with being the No Impact Man and how terribly hard it is to completely change one's way of life.

The author uses informal language, and the language and tone is trying to be used to relate.

The author's goal is to share his experience as the No Impact Man. He aims to have zero impact on the environment along with his dog and his daughter. Everything becomes an obstacle.

The goal of the main character is to prevent personal impact on the environment by cutting things out that harm it, such as over-consumption.

The character's goal is to save the planet and live a better lifestyle for the environment. A problem he has run into is people not wanting to change their lifestyle, and help save the planet

Yes, because he has written many non-fiction books in the past, all around the general topic of the earth.

Yes, this author is qualified because this was a personal experiment done in his life. He also holds a Ph.D in electronic engineering. He had written two other books before writing No Impact Man.

I think Colin Beavan might not be qualified to write this book because usually boys do not have the same problems girls do in the sense of being addicted to things like fun drinks and shopping. However, he might be qualified if the sense that he is using it to relate to saving the planet.
